Top of the Glacier

The Ausangate Trek in Peru was an epic high-altitude 60 mile adventure circumventing the glacier. We hiked for 4 days to reach the summit of 5,200m (or 17,060 feet). Shortly after the summit, we came around to stand face to face with the peak of the glacier. We had seen it at almost 360 degrees at this point, but something about standing so close to this majesty stopped me in my tracks. The glacier seemed to glow against the bright blue sky. The rock flowing to the glacier seemed like it was from space. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
